Twas the Night Before Travel...
It is Christmas day. Holiday lights are reflecting off my monitor in nice patterns and I have had more than three meals already. But tomorrow morning brings a long-dreamed-about adventure; a trip down Highway One from Santa Barbara to Rossmoor, California.

Riding Old San Marcos on a Skateboard →
I am obsessed with this. It is astonishing. This used to be my daily commute to work every day. Artists take something like a good mountain road and turn it into something as amazing as a helicopter ski run, a giant, California wave, or a dance on a stage. I worry about Mr. Chin, but I thank him for this amazing art.

Our class reminded me that I’d better do some reading before I scan 100+ slides the WRONG way.

Not sure if this is a healthy trend — the new narcissism? But these cameras are very handy for bicyclists interacting with a lot of traffic. The surfers like them, too.

How to Teach a Digital Photography Class →
This was helpful for me as I prepared for the July 18th session
I sure we won’t have time on July 18th to get into where digital photography is headed. But if you get the chance, watch this 2007 video for one preview into the future. I find this absolutely amazing.

What a wonderful thing for those wishing to improve their picture-taking skills. Join a group like the one in this link, upload your pictures, and get comments on them from all over the world. Caution, comments on the Internet are often negative or even worse — but if you choose a moderated group (I think this TWIP group is moderated) then you’re less likely to be bothered by...
